THAI teenager Nitcharee Peneakchanasak has been fitted with prosthetic legs, more than three months after she fell onto MRT tracks and lost her legs.
The president-elect of the Rotary E-Club of Singapore, Mr Christopher Bek, who visited the 15-year-old in Bangkok recently, said she received the pair of made-in-Germany prosthetics last week.
She has been learning to walk with them since.
Nitcharee has been going for physiotherapy sessions at Bangkok's Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Centre after returning to Thailand last month.
Stories of her determination to get on with life after the accident on April 3 touched many Singaporeans during her two-month hospital stay here.
Many donated money and offered to help with her medical bills. She has received more than $400,000 so far from well-wishers here and in Thailand.
